Who we are

Natures Shield supplies tactical gear to game rangers, task forces, and security companies. Our products are manufactured by our sister company, Tactical Tailor, in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. For this website, Natures Shield is the responsible party for your personal information.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you and supply our products:

• Details you send through the contact form: your name, organisation, email address, buyer type, and message.
• When you send the contact form, a bot check run by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical signals from your browser and your IP address to confirm the request comes from a person.
• Details you share when you order or ask for a quote, such as delivery and billing information.
• Basic technical information processed by our hosting provider when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used to deliver and secure the site.

What you have to give us

Giving us your information is voluntary. To send the contact form we need your name, email address, and message, because we cannot reply to you without them. Your organisation is optional. If you would rather not use the form, you can email us directly.

To fulfil an order we need delivery and billing details. Without them we cannot deliver the order or issue the invoices the law requires.

Why we are allowed to process it

POPIA only allows processing on certain grounds. We rely on these:

• Your consent, when you choose to contact us.
• Taking the steps you ask for before an order, such as preparing a quote, and performing the order once accepted.
• Complying with the law, for example tax and accounting rules.
• Our legitimate interest in keeping the website and contact form secure, where this does not override your rights.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Respond to enquiries and prepare quotes.
• Send you a confirmation email with a reference number when you submit the contact form.
• Protect the contact form from spam and automated abuse.
• Process, manufacture, and deliver orders.
• Keep the website secure and working properly.
• Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where needed:

• Tactical Tailor, our sister company, to manufacture and fulfil your order.
• Cloudflare, which hosts the website, protects it, and runs the Turnstile bot check.
• Resend, which delivers the emails sent from the contact form: your enquiry to our inbox and your confirmation email to you.
• Courier companies, to deliver your order.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

How our service providers handle it

Service providers that process personal information for us only act on our instructions. They are bound by agreements to keep it confidential and to protect it with appropriate security measures.

Transfers outside South Africa

Some of our service providers, including Cloudflare and Resend, process information on servers outside South Africa, for example in the United States and the European Union. We only use providers that are bound by data protection laws, rules, or agreements that give a level of protection comparable to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires, for example for tax records. Invoices and other tax records are kept for at least five years, as the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011 requires. After that information is deleted or anonymised.

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the contact form.

If we have reasonable grounds to believe your personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as soon as reasonably possible.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

• Ask whether we hold information about you and request a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date, or no longer needed.
• Object to us processing your information, or withdraw consent you gave earlier.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

How to make a request

Email your request to our Information Officer at contact@natureshield.co.za. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on it, so that we never give your information to someone else. We will respond within a reasonable time and tell you if we cannot meet your request, and why.

Requests for copies of records are handled under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA), which may allow a prescribed fee. We will tell you about any fee before we proceed.

Marketing

We will not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them. Every marketing message will include a way to unsubscribe.

Children

This website and our products are intended for organisations and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
